Pickled stones

Laboratorio Sasso is a temporary research studio at the Sasso Residency. The participants come from various fields such as art, textile, graphic and product design as well as architecture and even journalism.

Getting inspired by the place and the surrounding nature, the collective’s aim is to develop a comprehension of a wide range of commonly known (construction) materials. Laboratorio Sasso is stressing the importance of accepting failure as part of every process. Misusage or uncommon color, material and form combinations are main experimental strategies. The creations can lead to a set of research objects, unique products or even prototypes for future interior designs and other creations.

This laboratory is initiated by Amanda Haas (Graphic and Product Designer, Berlin) and Lora Sommer (Textile- und Product Designer, Zurich). Participants are: Tonia Geissbühler (Fashion and Product Designer, Berlin), Anna Rigamonti (Graphic Designer, Berlin), Giacomo Santiago Rogado (Artist, Berlin), Laura Stocker (Stylist and Product Designer, Zurich), Sabine Weier (Journalist, Berlin).
