Genevieve – Week 1 – Occupied Time
Sep 23, 2021
I find myself in a strange room, woken up by the sun entering the window which sits comfortably at a slant following the shape of the attic of the house, at an angle so precise for light to be absorbed directly into my eyes. I find out that the room has a name; her name is Luna.
Days here have been spent relearning how to occupy my time, erasing the idea that time spent should always be useful, efficient.
I spend my time collecting – stones, sun, words, light, texture, texts, rain – and then replicating them – with clay.
It is Thursday – and as I sit here at the dining table, writing, my hands feel a little colder than usual, possibly from the ever gradual changing of the season. Yet my heart remains warm, possibly from the smell of the first fire that we started this cloudy afternoon, possibly from the beautiful energies of the girls that I have been so privileged to share this house with.
