WELCOME TO THE MADONNA – PROJECT

THIS IS „THE“ HOLY TRINITY

Hello! We are Anne Welenc and Gina Haller both actresses and working for the first time on a project together. We got to know each other at Bern University of the Arts several years ago and decided recently to develop a so called Madonna Project. Our goal is it to create a performance about Madonna the Saint and Madonna the Popstar, in which we´ll focus on the connections and differences between these two very strong female figures and their reception in our society.
In Sasso we´ll try to find out more about the marian apparition that according to Fra Bartholomeo of Ivrea happened in 1840 on the „Sacro Monte“ above Locarno. Today there is a pilgrimage church called Madonna del Sasso. It is the most important sanctuary in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland.
